Company Overview

The result of Vista Equity's consolidation strategy: Salesloft ($2.3B acquisition, 2021) + Drift (acquired 2024) + Clari ($2.6B valuation, merged December 2025). The combined entity aims to build a "Predictive Revenue System" with $10 trillion in revenue under management. Conductor AI (patent-pending) prioritizes seller actions based on buyer behavior. Steve Cox (ex-Employ CEO) leads the integration.

The merger combines Salesloft's engagement capabilities, Drift's conversational AI, and Clari's revenue forecasting into what should be the most comprehensive platform in the category. The question is whether a three-way integration can execute faster than focused competitors iterating on single products.

Critical Risk: Data Breach

In August 2025, attackers exploited the Drift integration, compromised GitHub, stole OAuth tokens from AWS, and exfiltrated data from customer Salesforce instances. Cloudflare, Zscaler, and PagerDuty were among hundreds affected. Attributed to UNC6395 by Google Threat Intelligence. Enterprise procurement teams will scrutinize their security posture for years.

Outlook

The Salesloft-Clari merger is the biggest consolidation play in sales engagement history. If executed well, the combined entity becomes the de facto enterprise standard, replacing multiple point solutions with one platform. The Conductor AI product is genuinely differentiated, and the revenue forecasting capabilities from Clari add a dimension no standalone engagement tool can match.

The risk is execution. Three-way integrations are notoriously difficult. The data breach adds a trust deficit that will take years to rebuild. And 76 employees were laid off in February 2026, suggesting the combined entity is already managing costs rather than investing in growth. Competitors have a 12-18 month window to capture displaced customers who are uncertain about the integration's direction.

For competitors, this merger is both a threat and an opportunity. The threat is a well-funded platform that covers the entire revenue cycle. The opportunity is the inevitable disruption: confused customers, delayed product roadmaps, and a security narrative that procurement teams will reference in every evaluation.
